I am a new photographer… or so I still think I am. I have plenty more things to learn regarding good technique and generally anything photography related. Photography has been a pretty serious hobby of mine as of late, and I’m hoping to dig deeper as I write about things I learn and share with the world that which I am passionate about.
I have introduced myself and provided a background on my first post on this blog.
As for who I am beyond photography, my name is Tamar Weinberg, and I am a 25-year old married woman living in the Bronx. I work in the Internet industry by day, mostly managing servers but lately taking a more predominant role in my firm’s involvement in Search Engine Optimization, particularly in the area of social networking. For that reason, I’ve decided to write this blog.
Oddly enough, this isn’t the first blog I have ever written on the subject. I used another blog platform one year and two days ago to start teaching myself what I already knew about photography in a more brief format. It was a blog that was kept completely personal, mainly because at first, I was summarizing books that I’ve read and figured it might be an issue of copyright infringment if I actually publicized the page. Now, with the few forums I visit on a regular basis, I can learn new skills and pick up valuable information that is worth sharing (in my opinion) to readers who are interested in getting to know more about photography and want to stay close to the hobby (or profession, be as it may). I try to read a lot but share the important facets. It’s a good way for someone seeking out the information to actually find it quickly, and my goal is to become an informational portal (with discussion as well — comment freely!) for people to add to my stories.
As I said in my introductory blog, I am not a professional photographer. In fact, my photoblog showcases my work, which I think could definitely be improved and I am therefore working on bettering my technique. Still, the learning process is on many fronts: good technique (I’ll be providing links to resources), good gear (well, they usually say it’s the photographer, not the gear — but I am a gear collector), and good thoughts. I hope this blog will be informational to everyone who stumbles upon it. I look forward to your comments and welcome your dialogue and hope that this will be a page that you will etch in your memory as a valuable resource.
