DSLR Camera Reviews
- Canon 400D Reviewed at Techzine: “Good price, good features, good quality.”
- Nikon D80 reviewed at Pocket-Lint: The camera has an excellent build, superb performance, and a great detailed menu. Excellent upgrade from the D70/D70s. The only issue is price compared to the competition. “I can highly recommend this camera.” (9/10)
- Nikon D200 reviewed at Digital Camera Magazine: These user reviews say that the D200 is not a beginner’s camera: it is “the best camera for semiprofessionals.” (5/5)
- Pentax K100D reviewed at Imaging-Resource: This camera is “suitable for the full range of experience levels … and offers enough customization to keep more advanced users happy.” The only concern is autofocus in low-light conditions.
Point & Shoot Camera Reviews: Compact
- Casio Exilim EX-S770 reviewed at DigitalCameraReview: This is a good-looking well-built camera. “Once you get past the cover of this book, the camera also takes good pictures, has great battery life, and a very bright LCD, even outside in the sun.”
- Casio Exilim EX-Z850 reviewed at DigitalCameraInfo.com: While it is small and portable, it suffers from poor handling and “oddly placed controls.” Despite these shortcomings, the camera “is a good candidate for budget consumers as the price continues to fall.”
- Kodak V705 camera reviewed at Lost in Bluedom: This camera is a speedy performer and has a wide-angle lens that casual shooters will probably like.
- Nikon CoolPix S5 reviewed at Techtree.com: A good first digicam that suits the requirements for the “average consumers who want to click decent quality pics with a cam that is stylish and easy to use as well.” (3/5)
- Nikon CoolPix S9 reviewed at Cameras.co.uk: While easy to use, the design is limiting for users with large hands (lens placement). The flash range is also limiting and short. Picture quality could be better as well.
- Sony Cybershot DSC-T10 reviewed at TrustedReviews: There are no manual controls, limiting creativity. Anyone with large hands will have issues with the position of the lens. The Canon IXUS 850 IS is much better. (8/10)
Point & Shoot Camera Reviews: SLR-Like
- Fuji FinePix S6000fd reviewed at ZDNet: This camera lacks image stabilization, which is definitely a pitfall. But regardless of that, it is a “capable superzoom.” (7.2/10)
- Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 at PhotographyReview.com: Users say that the camera has a great lens, excellent zoom, and wonderful image stabilization, but suffers from noise issues and low-light shooting can be a problem. (4.2/5)
- Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50 reviewed at DPexpert: It’s got a great lens and the image stabilization make you want to love it. But it falls behind miserably when you try to photograph moving subjects.
- Samsung Pro815 reviewed at PC Magazine: “When it comes to the nuts and bolts of taking photos, using it is a hit-or-miss experience.” (2.5/5)
